After the great WITHERSCAPE's debut the big Dan Swano gives us a new NIGHTINGALE album. If you don't remember NIGHTINGALE is a Dan Swano's project that started with a Gothic Rock orientation but during the years it evolved as a Prog Rock project. 'Retribution' is the 7th NIGHTINGALE album and comes seven years after 'White Darkness'. Most of the songs of the album are Prog Rock mid tempo compositions with AOR and Hard Rock elements. The production of the album is good and highlights Dan's warm and melodic voice. My favourite tracks are the groovy 'Chasing The Storm Away', the mid tempo 'Lucifer's Lament', 'Forevermore' with the catchy chorus and the ballad 'Echoes Of A Dream'.
Conclusion: One more quality release from a very, very talented musician!
