The latest band to be reviewed as part of my Corona Crisis Project is THE STONE EYE from Philadelphia. The guys had to cancel their tour for their new record ‘Ventura’ and because shit like this sucks, I decided to help out with a little write-up. let’s see what the band has to say about the new output: “’Ventura’ was our attempt to write a somewhat wonky, disjointed riff and have it somehow fit into the typical pop music format. The whole thing came together rather quickly honestly, and I'd say that we did a pretty good job achieving what we set out to achieve”. Well, yes you guys did. I get reminded of the QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE quite often while listening to ‘Ventura’ vocalist Stephen Burdick has a nice Josh Homme touch to his voice and the overall musical setting is quite psychedelic and heavy.
Conclusion: If you dig good stoner music and can handle a good dose of psychedelic music with heavy undertones check out THE STONE EYE.
