Review Flash

ARMOURED KNIGHT hail from Chile and they are dead serious when it comes to Metal. Metal in the old-school way to be precise. Most of Chile’s Metal scene is rather extreme sound-wise (Black or Death Metal is way popular in the artistic community). I always wonder when I get my hands on some old-school Heavy Metal from South America, it is aching to resemble their influences yet it’s way different: raw, passionate and full of soul (most vocalists have an accent or a distinct sound to their pronunciations). The strange thing is: the things that make Japanese Metal almost unbearable to me tend to fascinate me with bands from South America. The Metal Archives compare ARMOURED KNIGHT with Chile’s AXE BATTLER and Brazil’s FAST EVIL (idk both bands) I would say there are moments I get reminded of German Speed Metal like HELLOWEEN or GAMMARAY but with way different vocals and a more raw and unpolished sound. José Tapia’s voice is really a force to be reckoned with (those highs are RAD!). The riffs and drums really get a kick out of me and sometimes I even hear a bit of the bass (almost no band with two guitarists manage to highlight their bass-player, shit gets lost due to the mixing process). I look forward to the full-length debut of these guys.

Conclusion: Once again a strong sign of life from Chile’s underground, support every second of this!
