Review Flash

It is always nice to get music from people that you and like for quite a while and Dario Beretta (DRAKKAR and CRIMSON DAWN). Dario had the dream to realize a charity album to donate to research against Leukaemia for quite some time and now the time has come. This record features a bunch of phenomenal guest musicians from all over the scene, some of the big guns on ‘Lost Horizons’ are: incredible vocalists like Anders Engberg (SORCERER), Roberto Tiranti (LABYRINTH), Giorgia Colleluori (SINNER), Davide “Damna” Moras (ELVENKING, HELL IN THE CLUB); amazing lead guitarists like Simone Mularoni (DGM), Kristian Niemann (SORCERER, ex-THERION), Eugene Simone (ELDRITCH), Francesco Marras (TYGERS OF PAN TANG); awesome bass players like Justin Biggs (SORCERER) and Andrea Buratto (SECRET SPHERE, HELL IN THE CLUB); and thunderous drummers like Michele Sanna (SUNSTORM, SWEET OBLIVION) and Fabio Alessandrini (ANNIHILATOR), and many others. Songs like ‘Lost Horizons’ are enriched with the talents of singer Ty Christian of LORDS OF THE TRIDENT (awesome pipes there Ty!) the Bass of Simone Pesenti Gritti (DRAKKAR) and SORCERER’s six- string wizard Kristian Niemann. Another bad-ass example is ‘The Things I Want To Be’ with vocals by Anders Engberg (SORCERER) and bass by his bandmate and overall good guy Justin Biggs. The whole album is heavily inspired by the sounds of the 70s and 80s and man I have to give it to Dario: this is a friggin’ good time!

Conclusion: If you don’t mind the fact that this is more or less a compilation you are in for a lot of heavy metal bliss, just play it LOUD!
