ACID BLADE from Germany were formed in 2019 under their first alias ANGEL BLADE, why they decided to rechristen themselves in a somewhat corrosive kind of way is a thing upon hundreds I don’t know jack about but these guys evolved into a better sounding band in my honest opinion. There are over-lapses with bands like ETERNAL CHAMPION and MANILLA ROAD which is why I rank the band as Epic Metal rather that stinky old Heavy Metal (a joke, I will fight everyone that says stuff like that!). Sound-wise ACID BLADE sounds way more professional as their debut as ANGEL BLADE, the vocals are better and more on point and the overall sound is just better production-wise. Vocalist Klay Mensana is doing a good job selling his kinda strange voice as best as possible, he wails, screams and sings his heart out bringing the point across that he is a big part of the overall sound that is simply not interchangeable without breaking it. Although I really dig the riffs and melodies, I must say that the other standout for me is “baterista extraordinaire” Jonny Astus on drums, he is simply everywhere and there are not many moments where he is not audibly awesome.
Conclusion: Belongs in any playlist that features bands like MANOWAR, ETERNAL CHAMPION and VISIGOTH.
