Album Review
I guess everyone remembers the 80’s or even the younger person heard about this wonderful era. The first impression which most of you people connect to the 80’s is that they were clearly defined by great music. But there was another historical development within these years. Computer freaks, especially the gamers generation shall know what I mean. The advance of computer games! Now EISENFUNK dedicated their Album “8 Bit” to this period. It’s like homage to the Commodore 64 generation. “EISENFUNK the industrial alloy of melody and noise” as the formation described themselves on the headline on their homepage keep their promise.
The sound of this band is really danceable and invites you to attack the dance floors. Their forward pushing music surrenders almost completely on vocals. But when lyrics appear you notice the striking voice of Michael Mayer. I looked at their visitor numbers on YouTube - that let me suppose that this formation isn’t an unknown underground band anymore. The video to their song ‘pong’ reached already 20,000 clicks and a placement in the DAC (German Alternative Charts) - rage on position17! This song is also presented on this album in four remixed versions. Guests like XOTOX or BEATI MORTURI set highlights to this song. I’m convinced that future brings further success for the trio.
