Album Review

On the 5th December the second single of OST+FRONT came out. You can hear that the band moved away from provoking lyrics to more subtle and pictorial songs. OST+FRONT focusses on better quality combined with the usual rock sound and industrial elements. You can feel the rhythm in your feet and the catchy tune is guaranteed.

The new single contains the main song ‘Freundschaft’ as we know from the latest album ‘Olympia’. There are two further new songs with a very nice sound and an elaborate ambiguity. The remixes are very different and offer a great variety of sound. A range from melodic metal, future pop and other danceable versions. There will be a version of an existing OST+FRONT song for every taste and every person. But in my personal opinion there are some songs that require getting used to it. The ‘Lord of the Lost remix’ for example sounds like it is not finished. Vocals and the instrumental seem like it isn’t fitting. And the ‘Feuer und Eisen Aneto Remix by Heimataerde’ might sound  bit too slow and boring in some ears.

All in all the single shows that OST+FRONT has several songs that are suitable in several styles of music. The following albums will be auspicious and I think that we will hear many different songs in the future. The coming spring will show us in which direction the new album ‘Ultra’ will lead this band.

02. Wanderlust
03. Tschernobyl
04. Sonne, Mond und Todesstern (Remix by Lord of the Lost)
