Album Review

The new formation from Berlin called OST+FRONT will again rise the mirror in front of your face with their provocative nature supported by a military-dirty masquerade leaving an extreme impression. The debut album of this provocative band includes massive guitars, thudding electronics and gall-spitting cynical German lyrics. They try to shake up the German Metal-scene with ‘Ave Maria’. Also available as strictly limited Digipak edition with bonus DVD containing exquisite audiovisual slaughter-festivities and harsh clips from the group’s debut show in Berlin.
The first track ‘911’ from OST+FRONT starts after a short and supporting intro. Hefty Guitar riffs supported with heavy drums and powerful electronics guided by religiously tinged German lyrics are thrown out of the box and directly into your mind reminding a little bit to RAMMSTEIN. This seems more clearly on the following track ‘Ich liebe es’ as the vocal design including the rolling “R” combined with a hymnal like chorus remind of numerous classic from RAMMSTEIN. OST+FRONT are not afraid of offending anyone and everyone, they are heading out to polarize and to take things one step further where other bands draw back. The goal is not to provoke for provocation’s sake, though OST+FRONT aim to hit it where it hurts and to mirror society like a grinning jester from hell.
‘Ave Maria’ is featuring harsh songs which are catchy, loud, brutal, honest, uncomfortable and yet irresistible. Despite their similarity with RAMMSTEIN, the guys from OST+FRONT present themselves like the evil brother of the famous German band. ‘Ave Maria’ will go under your skin. ‘Ave Maria’ will make you question all you believe in. As a conclusion it should be noted that the album has twelve mostly catchy and entertaining songs to offer which are sometimes pretty entertaining. The Content is a matter of taste and it seems that they copy the music quite invasive of RAMMSTEIN.
