OLDSCHOOL UNION is currently a Finnish electronic body music star rising up to the sky. The duo pushes the pace mightily, living the old school feeling with a passion and certain ruthlessness. The fins give the electronic sound a rough cut and radiate something extremely unruly and primal. They do not invented the electronic body music new but this Finnish duo is full of vigour and fervour behind this sweat producing body sound without compromise. Seppo Ahlstedt and Janne Vilen live old school oriented EBM with an extremely number of beats. Bands like DAF, early KRUPPS or NITZER EBB come to mind. For a newcomer this album is a very good production laden with unbridled energy. OLDSCHOOL UNION generates rows of up-tempo tracks which can easily compete with classic from NITZER EBB.
OLDSCHOOL UNION use mostly Finnish language within the majority of tracks but this in combination with their hard-rolling sound creates a real new facet. This sound harmonizes perfectly with the angry-shouted passages. This combination results in a testosterone-soaked vigour with a body-shaking efficiency. With their uncompromising tracks OLDSCHOOL UNION reveals all the frameless EBM fashion-dolls and nailed them to the wall. Converted Finnish crystal clear hard style combined with some self-referential passages are the trademark of this band. OLDSCHOOL UNION produce enough space for loose synth sequences in addition to many fast-acting and sometimes menacing tracks. This reminiscent sometimes of SPARK! which consequently also remixed a song for the album. Electronic Body Music for Friends of the clear, direct and impulsive EBM. OLDSCHOOL UNION is just more than a hint.
