This CD/DVD combo features ROB ROCK's live performance during the ProgPower USA IX festival in Atlanta Georgia. Shot on September 27th 2008 this first official DVD/CD for ROB ROCK to put out. The DVD features bonus interviews, behind the scenes footage, various selections from the current and past bands, and tours and rehearsals, and concert footage that have never been released before. So basically it consists of the average DVD material that a band would normally dish out whereas the CD contains the main live performance that draws you into the music instantly.
The crowd witnessing this performance is pleased cheering and shouting until they’re overwhelmed with exhaustion. Whereas the band plays fully throughout from start to finish never missing a beat but each tune they go through sounds the same from time to time. While the crowd over powers the band’s performance duties you can barely hear the instruments coming in and out at certain times. When you hear their pieces, the guitars and drums do more of the work, rounding off to sounding upbeat and rough and playing as loud as possible grabbing your attention as much as possible. While ROB ROCK’s vocals and overall musical work shares its time here and there as he chants and rants and raves to the crowd through certain aspects of the entire performance. Sounding quality wise could be better off and tends to dwell on and on so some minor work could be needed here. But all in all Rob Rock’s performance skills are right on key but just can’t withstand the sound barrier as much as we’d like too.
