The band READJUST from North Rhine-Westphalia released its latest full-length achievement `Level of Courage´ on 12th June 2009. Since the founding year 2002 and by recording the previous long-players `Morphose´ (2007), `Metamorphose´ (2008) and `traum:HAFT´ (2008), the project members have committed themselves to dark and forceful dance beats that are well-described with the self-created expression “Melodic Body Electro”.
The recent piece of work might be suited to lure people on the club dance floors, as it features pumping bass lines as well as catchy Synth Pop-influenced tunes and distorted vocals. The album’s prevailing mood is threatening and aggressive - not for the faint of heart or all lovers of Easy Listening stuff. I have to admit that it isn’t the kind of music I listen to in my everyday life. However, I can easily imagine how it will make scene club visitors dance. Starting with the determining up-tempo opener `No Surrender´, the tracks `Guilty´ and `Fear of the Unknown´ lash down similarly and will cause a moving crowd or at least - while listening to the record at home - bustling pivot feet.
The title track `Level of Courage´ and my personal favourite `Embrace the Fear´ offer to have a short rest period from the hell ride, as they both come up with a slower pace. Nevertheless, the mid-tempo tracks aren’t any lows due to the impellent rhythms and the hypnotic keys. `Machine´ is pretty melodious and conjures up images of Trance parties. The booming basses and the affinity to danceable sounds are also the characteristics of the remaining songs. Thus, the long-player definitely deserves the quality of “club-ability” and should work excellently live on stage as well.
