SHADOW MINDS are recently signed by Danse Macabre and now re-mastered their successful second album from 2008. This re-issue features 3 bonus tracks. You see, the album just changed a little bit and you won’t get much new stuff, but if you already know the parent it would be freshet up and put into mind again. Nevertheless it pays off to buy the rebuild version because the 3 bonus tracks are more jewels of SHADOW MINDS and perfect this album. If you - as a fan of high value electro - don’t know ‘Extend the Line’ you really have to miss something! For those who don’t know it yet I would offer certain basic information about the band and their music.
The Formation was founded in 2003; in 2005 they produced their first album ‘Simply different’ by their own. In 2006 the singer Mike left this project and from then Charly acts as the Front man of SHADOW MINDS. The band released ‘Extend the Line’ in 2008 with their past partner ‘Nordlicht Records’. In between they remixed SARA NOXX and IMATEM, also well known artists in this genre and supported BLUTENGEL on one of their shows. Now they are signed by Danse Macabre, which could be seen as a guarantee for further success. At least we hope so.
Their music could be described as Synth Pop with industrial elements and pieces of EBM. The rhythmical beats and loops match perfectly to the melancholic melodies and the charismatic, striking voice of Charly. You’re invited to dance and sing along these catchy anthem-like songs. This rebuild offering from Germany’s North would sweeten you the waiting period to their third album ‘The Arc of Truth’ (release in summer 2010). The upcoming Release has to be promise. My conclusion to this album: Still a successful album which now includes a few more highlights. My tips for start playing: ‘Everything’!
