Album Review
SHOTGUN CLUB are from Finland and according to their statements they are playing Post-Punk. What they are playing - for the most part of it - is in fact a retro imitation of JOY DIVISION of unbearable boredom, of musical flatness and of no fresh idea whatsoever. The vocals are as if the singer moans whilst he cleans potatoes. The only songs that are saved from this CD is the first one, ‘Flight Or Fight’ which is Post-Punk with elements of old Blues and to which the voice of the singer though discordant seems to fit the most and ‘Near Destruction’ which is closer to the original feeling of JOY DIVISION songs. But really apart from these two songs this CD is only recommended if you suffer from insomnia; guaranteed it’ll help you to fall asleep. The last song with these nonsense electronic sounds reminds me of ‘Space invaders’ the old game. Insert Coin! Not!
