Album Review
VOLBEAT caused a sensation with their “Elvis Metal” since 2001. Four of five albums gained international success and without any doubt, Michael Poulsen and his crew are the export hit of the small Scandinavian kingdom. The band’s latest album, ‘Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies’, was released in this year’s April. Now, short before the new tour gets started, the band is coming up with a limited tour edition of their latest album. We won’t review the full album here, since we already did that before [please read our review]. The tour edition comes with some little extras. On disc one you have the full album like you already know it from the April release, plus one additional track called ‘Ecotone’. The DVD takes you to the biggest festivals in Europe. You can see live footage from the band’s appearances at Rock am Ring in Germany, Download Festival in UK, Hellfest in France and Danish Roskilde, just to name a few. Already curious? Here are clips from ‘Dead But Rising’ and ‘The Nameless One’ for you. As VOLBEAT spreads a lot of power during their shows, the DVD is a worthy addition to the album and even you do already own the album, buying the tour edition is a good investment.
