Blackfield Festival 2013 Day 3: Godex, Ost+Front, Die Kammer, Rabia Sorda, Neuroticfish, Fixmer/ McCarthy, Rotersand, Staubkind, Mono Inc., Eisbrecher
Although some clouds appeared every now and then, the weather was perfect for festivals. Not too hot or cold and more important it was dry. Not also could you admire some fancy costumes but also several sun burnt people like me. Hopefully one day I will learn it to be prepared for rain and sun at one festival.

Dark Waters Festival Day 3: Scandacross, Arcane Winter, Joe Black, The Last Cry, Tenek
The final day of this year’s Dark Water Festival has a rather shaky start for me, as the earlier opening time seems to have passed me by, resulting in a missed opportunity to see first band SCANDACROSS. Slapped wrist. Apologies to them, then, for being omitted here, I will include their bio instead and wish them all the best.

Esprit Arena Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf, Germany
3rd July 2013
Depeche Mode & Matthew Dear
With the two dates in Düsseldorf, the stadium shows in Germany were coming to an end. On 3rd July, the first of two Düsseldorf dates was taking place. Even though it was a stadium show, it had more the feeling of a huge indoor event since the roof of the arena was closed.

Blackfield Festival 2013 Day 1: Full Contact69, Coppelius, Spetsnaz, In Strict Confidence, Deathstars, Blutengel
I am a person capable of being late to a festival in my own city. Gelsenkirchen indeed is a city. Not a village. Neither it is part of a Landkreis. This is important, as you will most certainly figure out later. More than that, Gelsenkirchen features one of the best open air locations available in Germany: The Amphitheater at Nordsternpark. Being suitable for about 5,000 people the theatre offers excellent sound and a great view of both the performers and the ships passing by behind the stage. In case people aren't completely freaked out by the mutant Hercules Statue in the park, there is a tendency to have an amazing weekend at Blackfield Festival.
