Resisting the last gasp of winter, which boasted on spot for the weekend with snow and frosty minus degrees, promoter and guests look back at a successful, peaceful and for the first time sold out festival with 4,500 fans in attendance.

Starting-off in style, JÄGER 90 directly rang in the happy hour at the mainstage, laying the foundation for an outstanding celebration. If nostalgic feelings with FORCED TO MODE, a cool laser show by EISFABRIK, the sonorous electro-pop of CHROM, the charisma of a Daniel Graves (AESTHETIC PERFECTION), the cultivated provocation of NACHTMAHR or the powerfully orchestrated set of PROJECT PITCHFORK with three drummers and epic LED walls, the tide went high at all times. However, the latter cumulated into a final crescendo performed by VNV NATION, who put an impressive final chord to the mainstage's experience.

The second stage was opened by the Swede LUCIFER'S AID and his gloomy Belgian school analogue-industrial. Industrial-noise expert Andreas Davids, alias XOTOX, picked up the thread, before the also Swedish EBM-delegates SPARK! provided the surprise hit of the festival for a not so insignificant part of the audience. .COM/KILL, FROZEN PLASMA and ROTERSAND continued to carry the enthusiastic atmosphere at Halle 2 to its well deserved melting point.

Right after the festival, the latest visitor poll had been released at www.etropolis-festival.de/umfrage2018. Promoters observe both, positive and critical feedback, very closely, to the optimize the overall festival organisation in areas wherever possible.

For 2018 the time has come for the festival promoters to thank all the artists, agencies, traders, staff, production partners, the security, the media partners, sponsors and of course the visitors who made this harmonic, first-time outselling E-TROPOLIS FESTIVAL 2018 such a thrilling and enjoyed experience. E-tropolis Festival of course continues. The ninth edition takes place on 16th March 2019 at Turbinenhalle Oberhausen, while again the pre-party sets in for another round on 15th March at Halle 2. More info on pre-selling and the first set of bands will follow very soon.
