Whether as singer and bandleader of the highly successful DEPECHE MODE tribute act FORCED TO MODE, through projects such as FORCED MOVEMENT, MORPHOSE, FICTIONAL, PART, or as a guest vocalist for artists including PAUL VAN DYK and THOMAS LIZZARA, the voice and stage presence of Christian Schottstädt have become indispensable to the scene and far beyond it.In 2025, the charismatic singer released his first solo album titled ‘Keyscene’. Produced independently, the record features reimagined classics and rarities from the Synthpop scene, including songs by CAMOUFLAGE, DE/VISION, BLIND PASSENGERS, MESH, S.P.O.C.K and ELEGANT MACHINERY, translated into his own beautifully melancholic and cinematic minimalist language. Through his haunting, deeply affecting voice and sensitive productions, Christian Schottstädt lends these songs a unique, tangible and emotional new lustre.
Together with guitarist Detlef Mahler, the duo performed a number of selected shows across Germany. It quickly became clear to audiences just how much magic and power lies in the live interpretation of the album. Expanding the programme further, the two musicians also present their own interpretations of songs by DEPECHE MODE, RECOIL, NIRVANA, SANDRA and COCK ROBIN, creating an enchanting evening that is rounded off by warm, engaging and informative commentary between the songs.
In December 2026, Christian Schottstädt and guitarist Detta will take this programme on their first German tour. This also offers fans of FORCED TO MODE the rare opportunity to experience the frontman in a far more intimate setting. At many dates on the tour, none other than BOBO IN WHITE WOODEN HOUSES will open the evenings with her solo programme.
