THE ANIX is an American electronic band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of brothers Brandon Smith (vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass, programming) and Logan Smith (drums) as well as longtime friend Chris Dinger (Guitar). The band was conceptualized in early 2000 as an electronic rock band taking most of its influence from DEPECHE MODE’s heavier live set performed during the ‘Violator’ Tour. The group played the Hollywood circuit of popular rock clubs for several years without any success. The difficulty the band faced was due to the combination fusing together two opposite genres: synthesized electronic music, with massive rock choruses. Rock fans were generally turned off by the electronic backbone of the music, and electronic fans turned away when hearing the punishing rock elements. The band stuck with this formula however and continued developing their sound, writing hundreds of demos and playing countless live shows over the next 8 years.

Music full of viciousness, sensuality, desire, and provocation - that's what DAF stand for. They are one of the most influential Electro bands that present their lyrics in German. Founded in 1978 DAF are seen as pioneers of Electro Punk, Emotional Body Music, and the Techno genre. With their album ‘Die Kleinen und die Bösen’ (transl. ‘The Little and the Evil Ones‘), the Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft (transl. “German American Friendship”) - DAF - became an international breakthrough act in 1980. Their follow-up albums ‘Alles ist Gut’ (‘All's Well’), ‘Gold und Liebe’ (‘Gold and Love’), and ‘Für immer’ (‘Forever’) were also widely celebrated. The combo said goodbye on their farewell tour two years ago, but now they are back again!

As on 22. & 23. July 2017 more than 12.000 members of the goth-scene from all over the world flock again to Tanzbrunnen Cologne, the Amphi Festival opens its portals for the thirteenth time. Successing last summer´s highly acclaimed return to its long-term venue and being awarded a silver star for its first decade of collaboration with the Tanzbrunnen, Amphi Festival 2017 content-wise spans a bridge between tradition and modern zeitgeist.

Taken as a whole, a wealth of 42 bands wait to please the crowd with magnificent shows, including the two thrilling headliners VNV NATION and EISBRECHER, both behemoths of live-entertainment and yet so different. Electronic enthusiasts will equally be served as the fans of chunky riffs! Outright the same goes for the rest of the programme, which, among many more, hauls the deeply rooted British goth-rock instance FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM to Cologne. Leading acts like APOPTYGMA BERZERK, COMBICHRIST, HOCICO, DIARY OF DREAMS, LORD OF THE LOST and EBM- / industrial rock pioneers DIE KRUPPS herald of what might be regarded as the strongest Amphi line-up yet.

THE EDEN HOUSE is a collaborative musical project, initiated by Stephen Carey and Tony Pettitt (Fields of the Nephilim), and involving a collection of guest musicians and vocalists. The project already released two long-players, as well as two mini albums. On their third album ‘Songs For The Broken Ones’ they worked together with Monica Richards. The eco-activist of the Washington DC punk scene is known worldwide as a member of the band FAITH & THE MUSE. One of her last EDEN HOUSE tracks, which she had worked on, already gained great popularity on the current "Yu-Gi-Oh!" Soundtrack, a Japanese anime series. The album will be released on June 16 via Jungle Records / Rough Trade.
