The 19th edition of Graspop Metal Meeting takes place from 27th to 29th June in Dessel, Belgium. Over the years an impressive list of bands have played at this famous metal festival. The event was not originally a heavy metal festival; rather, it was conceived as a local family festival. In 1995, the headliners billed were JOE COCKER and SIMPLE MINDS.

Eric Clapton fans are buzzing with excitement over the release of his critically acclaimed 1985 comeback album 'Behind The Sun' on limited numbered edition Hybrid SACD on Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity! The musical climate had changed dramatically from the days Eric Clapton had topped the charts in the '70s. 'Behind The Sun' is not his first album of the decade, but he obviously understood it was time to modernize his sound. After signing with Warner Brothers in 1983, Clapton bounced back on the music charts for the first time in five years, and solidified his return in 1985 with the instant success of 'Behind The Sun' his ninth album.- Details

Iceland Airwaves has announced more artists slated to perform at Iceland Airwaves, taking place in Reykjavík November 5-9. Tickets are on sale now. The War on Drugs (US), who will be closing the festival on Nov 9 with Flaming Lips. On June 13, 2014 Swedish Industrial Rockers DEATHSTARS will release their upcoming album 'The Perfect Cult' via Nuclear Blast. Now the band has published the first album trailer, in which they reveal background information on the production of their highly anticipated new creation. The trailer is available at the Nuclear Blast YouTube channel. 'The Perfect Cult' has been captured in several studios: drums, guitars and bass were recorded in Bohus Sound Recording, Kungälv Sweden, vocals in Gig Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and keyboards, orchestration and editing was done in Black Syndicate, Stockholm. While the mix as usual was handled by legendary Stefan Glaumann (RAMMSTEIN, WITHIN TEMPTATION), guitarist/ keyboardist Nightmare took care of the production from bottom to top. For the drum-, guitar- and bass-production, Nightmare worked together with Roberto Laghi (ENTOMBED, IN FLAMES) at Bohus Sound Recording.- Details

German melodic death metallers Emergency Gate are taking it to the next level, announcing the first dates of their upcoming world tour. Needless to say, a tour of these proportions needs a brand new album to go along with it, which also seems to be home and dry. The new album will be called “Infected” and is set to be released punctually for the kick-off of the Wacken Road Show on September 26th. Statement by bass player Mario: “It feels unreal. When I started the band “Emergency Gate” many years ago, I (and probably any other musician out there) had the dream and, at the same time, the goal to go on a world tour. This dream is going to be fulfilled!
