DREAM THEATER--John Petrucci on guitar, John Myung on bass, James LaBrie on vocals, Jordan Rudess on keyboards and continuum, and Mike Mangini on drums--are one of the biggest touring bands in the world having completed a 14-month tour with 110 shows through 34 different countries from 2011-2012 in support of their eleventh studio album A Dramatic Turn Of Events. Now the Grammy-nominated progressive metal titans have announced the first leg of their European tour launching January 15 in Porto, Portugal in support of their new studio album being released September 24; it marks the first self-titled release in the band's nearly three-decade career. The upcoming tour will encompass 30 cities in 16 countries. The band is also planning to tour North America beginning in March 2014.

Finally, the 7-inch vinyl single of Covenant has arrived at the office of Dependent Records. Not only the title track "Last Dance" is included on the single, but also an exclusive remix by Dupont. Fans, who preordered the exclusive red vinyl edition, will get it soon. Dependent already sent out the first parcels. Who hasn’t preordered the vinyl-edition yet should do it now, there are only a few copies left in their shop. But this is no surprise since “Last Dance” is still at the top of the German Alternative Charts.

In August 2011, WOLFPAKK, the allstar-project led by Mark Sweeney (ex-Crystal Ball) and Michael Voss (Mad Max, Casanova) was releasing its debut, simply titled “Wolfpakk”. Now, two years after, Sweeney and Voss unleash the successor, „Cry Wolf”. Again the two leaders managed to gather many high-class guest musicians and vocalists, to record WOLFPAKK’s second longplayer. „Cry Wolf“ will be released on August 30th.

Who does not remember “Halo”, undoubtedly the most popular song of US alternative/Metal band SOIL? On vocals back then, Ryan McCombs, who later should leave SOIL to become the new frontman of Drowning Pool. Ryan, much to the delight of the fans, finally returned to the band recently and of course will sing all songs on the new album “Whole”, which will be released on August 16th worldwide (excl. USA and Canada) via AFM Records. As a first foretaste the album’s first single “Shine On” is available now.
