The Area4 Festival 2010 after PLACEBO, BLINK 182 and BILLYTALENT has been enriched by another big name: With QUENS OF THE STONE AGE the festival advances to a real rock happening. No one less than Jesse Huge, singer of EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, warmly recommended the Area4 festival to his friend Josh Homme. Additionally, four more bands know how to enrich this year's line-up with more varieties of rock. MONSTER MAGNET put on driving Space Rock. One always says that you can’t rush greatness or perfection, and this couldn’t be more true in the case of metal titans NEVERMORE, who last released the highly acclaimed “This Godless Endeavor” in 2005. The Seattle quartet have triumphantly returned with the much anticipated new full-length release, “The Obsidian Conspiracy”, which is what could be their most impressive offering of their illustrious decade plus, heralded career. “The Obsidian Conspiracy” was recorded with renowned producer Peter Wichers (who previously worked with NEVERMORE vocalist Warrel Dane on his solo debut “Praises to the War Machine”). Longtime friend and collaborator Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy) once again handled mixing and mastering duties. The album is set for June 8th North American release and May 31st European release.- Details

TURISAS will play in Japan for the first time in May: the band will perform at Finland Fest 2010, 29 May in LiquidRoom, Tokyo. The event, which is entirely dedicated to Finnish bands, is entitled “Metal Attack” and will also feature Tarot, Before The Dawn and their labelmates Poisonblack. With just twelve bands to go, the provisional lineup is already a great mix of styles and a perfect marriage of tradition and innovation.
