Having released a single and debut album on Dependent Records, Vancouver’s S.V.D is back this year with a digital-only EP that finds them in full form. Front-man Steve Campbell is energetic as always and all six digital cuts tear it up. Sonically, the band has progressed but this does not mean that they have left behind the strong influence of their Vancouver predecessors, Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, and Numb. Electronic sounds mix with guitar sampling, melodic vocals are tweeked by spoken-word stylistics. The result is slamming industrial, Canadian style: check out 21st Century Mind and Dreaded Afterglow to be convinced. Then come back and listen to the development, processed vocals, trance elements, and addictive vibe of I Can’t Contradict. This little EP proves S.V.D to be one of the most original and addicting acts in Canada.- MANOWAR - The Ultimate Fan Contest and more news
