Essigfabrik, Cologne, Germany
29th February 2020
Kvelertak, Planet Of Zeus, Blood Command
2019 was a year of change for KVELERTAK. The band from Stavanger, Norway mixes hard, dark Black Metal-like music with Punk Rock elements, and is one of the rare bands that feature three guitarists. In 2019, their singer Erlend Hjelvik left the group on friendly terms.
The loss of a singer can bring a band close to breaking up, but KVELERTAK found a great replacement: Ivar Nikolaisen from THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE ZUGLY had already appeared as a guest vocalist on KVELERTAK’s first album. Now he is a full member and was already welcomed by fans and audiences on several concerts. The band’s energy is still there and Nikolaisen adds his own raw edge to the music. He and the band convinced their audiences on a European tour with MASTODON and MUTOID MAN in 2019 and on several festivals. With band and fans more than happy, KVELERTAK just recorded their fourth album, the successor to the successful album ‘Nattesferd’, which brought them their international success.
Their 2020 German tour brings the Norwegians to cities all over the country throughout February and March. In summer, they will perform at the Wacken Open Air festival. Their performances are extreme, guitar-driven and are pumping with energy. KVELERTAK is one of the loudest bands around. They will bring old and new material to their German fans. Let’s welcome this new line-up and go wild.
