7th November 2022
PLACEBO have announced their long-awaited eighth studio album ‘Never Let Me Go’ and a European tour for 2022. In October / November the musicians will present the new songs live in Germany, including performances in Frankfurt, Leipzig, Munich and Cologne. There are also concerts in Stuttgart, Berlin and Hamburg.
‘Never Let Me Go’ is set to be released on March 25th, nine years after the last long player ‘Loud Like Love’. The new single ‘Surrounded By Spies’ is out now. As early as September 2021, PLACEBO awoke from a long hibernation to release their first song in five years, which was also the first release from the upcoming album: ‘Beautiful James’.
As a master in cataloguing the human being, PLACEBO’s unique way of examining both its flaws and beauty will be well received in 2021. The voice, creeping out of the pandemic into a landscape of intolerance, division, technical satiety, and impending environmental disaster, has seldom left a greater impact on current discourse and better suited to delivering these stories to the world. On the new track ‘Surrounded By Spies’, there was no mincing of the tongue when it came to confronting the undermining of civil liberties. Brian Molko’s skilful lyrical execution is combined with creeping claustrophobia and gives the impression that literally all four walls are moving closer and closer to us.
PLACEBO will present the new album and their greatest hits live as part of a European tour in 2022, which will also take them to Germany for a few selected concerts in October / November.
