corrosionfest2022The Alhambra, Morecombe, UK
11th to 12th March 2022
Corrosion Fest 2022 with Inkubus Sukkubus, Balaam and the Angel, Rhombus, In Isolation, Long Night, Fleisch, Novus UK, 1919, IAMWARFACE, This Can Hurt, Klammer

Morecombe has steadily become a well-known coastal Gothic town in the UK with a regular night at The Alhambra with live music. A great combination of friendly organisation, great DJs, live music and a fantastic venue has firmly placed a pin in the Goth map of the UK.

Day one is headlined by INKUBUS SUKKUBUS, a long-standing favourite on the scene playing hallowed ground stages at the likes of Amphi, M’era Luna, and Wave Gotik Treffen. This band alone makes the trip to Morecombe worthwhile. RHOMBUS is another well-established band with a large following, guitar based with strong writing skills. For me I am so pleased to see Industrial Metal band FLEISCH playing at the festival. Often referred to as RAMMSTEIN’s kinky little cousin - I’m guessing that will be descriptive enough and sell a few tickets for the festival. Opening the festival is another firm favourite of my own, NOVUS UK - having followed the band for many years.

Day two maintains the high standard - headliner for Saturday night is none other than BALAAM AND THE ANGEL. Having seemingly been around since the dawn of time, the band always provide a polished and exhilarating live performance. STAR INDUSTRY was due to play this evening, due to several issues they could no longer attend - a big shame as I love the band. However, the replacement by IN ISOLATION meets with my approval! It’s not too often that Norwegian Goth Metal band LONG NIGHT play in the UK and is likely to be another enticing prospect for anybody considering tickets for festival. It’s great to see 1919 playing on the Saturday night - Post-Punk of the finest order directly from the 80’s.

IAMWARFACE jump from the stage of GARY NUMAN to The Alhambra in Morecombe. Best described as “Rocktronic” in musical style, I’m sure they will give a fine performance. I recently watched THIS CAN HURT play during Sinners Day Festival, and struggled to grasp what they were attempting to achieve. I’m looking forward to seeing them again as undoubtedly, they were very good at what they do. Finally, one of my favourite Post-Punk dark bands, KLAMMER, showcasing some of their new album I was lucky enough to hear at a private invite only intimate gig some months ago.
