John Fryer seems to be dotty about ESOTERICA because he not only produced ‘The Fool’, he also released it on his own label ‘Something to listen to’. ‘The Fool’ is an amazing declaration of intention for such a young band.

The record is contemplative dark, full of atmospheric soundscapes, infecting melodies and powerful vocal lines. This combination maybe has contributed to the fact that ESOTERICA opened the sold-out Hammersmith Apollo show in London for HIM, are on heavy rotation in the British XFM radio show and that even Bruce Dickinson plays ESOTERICA songs in his radio show. No winder, because the band is able to bring back the dark shape of industrial and breathe new life into this genre. The promo video to ‘Life is Lonely’ was shot by the video pioneer Nathan Cox (MARILYN MANSON, KORN, LINKIN PARK) and Wendell Scott Greene (JANET JACKSON).

It will stay a mystery why the band sells copies of their “best part” as a vibrato at the British Beate Uhse counterpart Ann Summers, but it is unquestionable that the powerful performance of the five British guys will make this an extraordinary evening and maybe there will be an additional product range at Beate Uhse in the not too distant future.
