KN/GHTS announces ‘Supernatural Lover’, the boldest and most uncompromising release yet from James Knights. KN/GHTS is the electrifying project of James Knights, renowned for his work with SCARLET SOHO and as one half of the cult synth duo BOYTRONIC. Combining heavy HI-NRG, raw electro, and a versatile vocal range, Knights crafts a sound that is dynamic, intense, and unforgettable.Inspired by underground culture and memorable hooks, KN/GHTS delivers music that is both menacingly charming and sonically decadent. Each track is designed to go under your skin, while every live show leaves audiences thrilled and electrified long after the lights go down.
James Knights is legendary for his frenetic, immersive live performances, where the line between performer and audience disappears. Fans have affectionately dubbed him the “Disco Rampensau”, reflecting his chaotic charm, intensity, and stage energy. KN/GHTS has built a cult following through support tours with i.e. DRAB MAJESTY or Andy Bell of ERASURE. Festival appearances and headline performances include Standon Calling, Infest UK or Patrick Miller Nightclub, Mexico City. In 2024, KN/GHTS closed Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, performing ‘Dollars & Cents’ in full to celebrate its fifth anniversary - a moment that cemented KN/GHTS’ reputation as a must-see live act.
Now, KN/GHTS unleashes the bold new release ‘Supernatural Lover’. After years of relentless touring, KN/GHTS returns with the most daring and uncompromising release yet. The release explores obsession and loss, while leaving room for moments of hope. Occasionally, a macabre, Hammer Horror-style humour breaks through, adding a surreal edge to deeply personal reflections.
Following the debut ‘Dollars & Cents’, this second offering captures a period of turbulence and change in the KN/GHTS sphere. Each track is raw, urgent, and an intimate document of struggle and survival, with the exception of a striking reinterpretation of YAZOO’s ‘Goodbye 70s’, which provides a welcome moment of contrast. Described by Knights as “a more difficult beast to tame,” the release is forged entirely from instinct and emotion. Darkly playful and often menacing, it flows between intensity, reflection, and euphoria, capturing a period of transformation in KN/GHTS’ journey - disoriented, yet vivid.
Known for captivating live performances, KN/GHTS has earned a reputation across Europe and beyond. The shows - equal parts chaos and precision - have earned James Knights the nickname “Disco Rampensau,” a performer whose energy is impossible to overlook. ‘Supernatural Lover’ is an unpredictable and unapologetically expressive statement for anyone drawn to music that embraces both shadow and light.
