HIRAX is an American Thrash/ Speed Metal band, which was founded in 1982. Vocalist Katon W. De Pena is the only original member of the current line up. ‘Immortal Legacy’, the band’s fifth studio record, features twelve Old School Thrash Metal tracks with lots of Speed Metal and crossover influences. All tracks on ‘Immortal Legacy’ are very straight-forward and sound as if they were imported directly from the 1980s. The vocals vary from harsh to clean-sung. In general, the album does by no means reinvent the wheel and although it is a very solid and energetic approach to Thrash Metal, the overall tone is too repetitive.
Conclusion: Solid and uncompromising Thrash Metal, 80s style.
