HARD TENSION is a progressive metal band from Portimão, Portugal formed in the year 2011 by Paulo Santos. The band has a classical approach leaning heavily towards the 80`s on one side and living on progressive rock like AYREON (listen to the mid part of “harder faster”) on the other side. Miguel Migas Magalhães (vocals) voice is a bit rough but the guy manages to sing clear vocal lines too. The drums and bass are fitting (effective, not brilliant or the very reverse) the keyboards are sometimes a bit too hectic (a bit annoying). The guitar work is good but all in all the entire band has a very talented vibe.
Conclusion: This is neither a very good nor a very bad EP, I think this guys are talented and I am looking forward to their first full-blown record. There is not much information about the guys considering what I have found so just check their music if you want to know what these guys are made of.
