Founded in 2018 by Jörg M. Knittel of SACRED STEEL fame, GOBLINS BLADE was born after Knittel suffered a lack of inspiration for more Power Metal material; he quit the band and took his time to refocus. Later on he concentrated on his other projects DAWN OF WINTER and MY DARKEST HATE. Over the past two years he came up with ideas and riffs for Power Metal once again so he decided to start GOBLINS BLADE. He assembled quite a crew with former DESTILLERY vocalist Florian Reimann, Claudio Sisto, ex-MYSTIC PROPHECY on drums and Roberto Palacios, ex-CHINCHILLA on bass. Musically this beast is inspired by bands like METAL CHURCH and OMEN with a slight bit of Teutonic steel felt here and there. Reimann’s voice is right up my alley and I’m really excited to hear what comes next because this is strong material coming from some well-known talents.
Conclusion: Check out ‘Call for Unity’. It’s the closest to what I would call catchy, the other songs are great but not as neat as this because of the rather atypical compositions and melodies.
