Review Flash

If you read my review of the last ALITOR output ‘II’ you will understand that I am quite excited right now. ‘II’ was undeniably one of the best records of 2020, a manifest in Progressive Thrash Metal. I am lucky that I also did get to interview vocalist Marco Todorović a few months ago. I don’t know why the guys decided to do the vocals on this EP in their native Serbian tongue but it is an interesting point of view to listen to it that way. The first song named ‘Lokot’ which seems to be the Croatian word for padlock, sounds modern and progressive at the same time but still gets inspiration from bands like ANGELWITCH and early IRON MAIDEN (blink and you miss it). ‘Prav’ means right, straight or linear and is a bit slower than ‘Lokot’ yet a bit heavier when it comes to classic sounding riffs. The third and last song on this EP is named ‘Amanet’ which translates to trust; the structure is quite progressive from the get-go yet a bit darker and even epic, Marco sings a bit harsher every now and then (suits the song but I like the less harsh vocals more where his voice can really shine). After listening to this I can’t wait for the next full-length and, of course, a tour that leads these gentlemen to Germany.

Conclusion: Just like with my reviews of a few ARIA records, I don’t understand the lyrics so I cannot talk about these in depth but just as ‘II’ this is just brilliantly executed Progressive Thrash and I am all here for it.
