Review Flash

Once upon a time, in 2019, I reviewed the first demo of a young and hungry bunch of headbangers. The band was KNIGHT AND GALLOW and we met on Instagram. If you happen to know the band, your first reaction will be to the extreme growth of the songwriting and execution. The vocals are better, the songs have more depth and the songwriting also received a major level-up. The comparisons to acts like ETERNAL CHAMPION, DARK FOREST AND VISIGOTH are understandable but KNIGHT AND FALLOW manage to write and play Epic Metal without citing MANOWAR (which is a task in itself). The lyrical topics are among the Epic Metal standards with tracks like ‘Middle Earth’, ‘Soul Of Cinder’ or ‘Stormbringer’s Call’ you can be sure these guys know their High Fantasy lore and got a love for the Dark Soul’s Franchise. To add to the already improved vocals Nick Chambers also gets into higher pitched screams here and there (if you know me, I love those). KNIGHT & GALLOW’s debut album was co-produced and mixed by Jeff Black (GATEKEEPER), mastered by Bart Gabriel and is adorned with a cover art created by the one and only Wyrmwalk, who also crafted the cover for MORGUL BLADE’s recent album.

Conclusion: If you dig the old-school approach to everything epic you should give these guys a chance and check out KNIGHT AND GALLOW’s ‘For Honor And Bloodshed’.
