Album Review
BLOWSIGHT is a Swedish band that became known after winning a competition which in turn lead to them signing a contract with Sony BMG. After an EP and two albums this peculiar hybrid of Punk, Metal and Pop is back. Put some PANTERA and SEPULTURA into the blender and add some BJORK. What you will have as a result? NICKELBACK in a more pop aspect which is what mostly is the essence of this band. And to be fair, their more pop aspect is what makes the whole CD work somehow. That and the fact the “colour” of their sound bring to my mind something from METALLICA. But if that is a metal and punk band with a “tongue in cheek” attitude then I am Cthulhu’s priest. The only song where all the aforementioned influences contribute positively is ‘As Wicked As They Come’. The CD is mostly recommended for teenagers and Sweden’s submission to Eurovision 2012.
