Album Review
TANKARD were founded in 1982 and are playing “Alcoholic” Metal over all those years without a reunion. They bring out new long players in familiar clearances, a new TANKARD record is mostly no big surprise, the music straight and always a good soundtrack for a beer party or a cool mosh pit. Listening to the newest TANKARD release is like coming home after a long working day or meeting with good friends in your favourite pub, it is nothing innovative, but sometimes the best thing in the whole world.
TANKARD’s lyrical concepts are dealing mostly with social problems or drinking (in this case more the positive way) and are often flavoured with irony and humour. The cover artwork brings back the “Mad Professor” from their 1987 masterpiece ‘Chemical Invasion’. After 32 years, TANKARD are still ass kicking and far away from old men rock. Gerre’s vocals are sounding like a rowdy punk which is perfect for this sound. It is hard to pick up a specific song, they are all good TANKARD standard. All TANKARD fans are clearly buying it, all Thrash, Heavy and even Punk fans should listen to these cool Thrash dinosaurs. The ones who are bored by them should ignore it again.
