The Parlotones & Fiction Plane

On this Thursday we met in Munich in front of the Backstage to have a look at the South African Band THE PARLOTONES and their support FICTION PLANE.

Fiction Plane

FICTION PLANE is an Indie Rock Band, which was founded in London under the name SANTA’S BOYFRIEND in the year 2001. In the course of their career, they were already support for bands like THE POLICE, SNOOP DOGG, STING and THE BRAVERY, played at numerous festivals and had even their own European tour. In 2010, they published their current album ‘Sparks’. http://www.fictionplane.com/

Music & Performance
In time at 7:30 PM, Joe Sumner (vocals, bass / Son of THE POLICE front man Sting), Seton Daunt (guitar) and Pete Wilhoit (drums) appeared on stage. Just - as later the singer of THE PARLOTONES - Joe Sumner appeared in a black sports jacket with an orange tie. With their music, they made the quite well filled hall dancing together and created a successful start into this evening with their presentation… The mood reached its first climax and the joy for the appearance of THE PARLOTONES always getting closer now rose. After half an hour everything was over and the band was awarded with considerable applause.

Music & Performance
Finally, after a short rebuilding break, Kahn Morbee (voice, guitar), Neil Pauw (drums), Paul Hodgson (guitar) and Glenn Hodgson (bass, piano, background voice) appeared on stage. They immediately began with the song ‘Live Design’ which is to be heard currently also in a television commercial. From the very beginning, they had the fans in their hands primarily caused by the captivating voice of Kahn Morbee. Everybody sang, danced together and clapped. Every time they played a ballad you could see many luminous lighters and the mood reached one climax after the other. With the world championship song ‘Come Back As Heroes’ there were not many listeners who did not join in the singing. But some time, everything has an end and the band left the stage under blustering applause and after the additions. The evening had exceedingly succeeded and was very diverse. For every fan something was present - no matter whether like rock or quiet ballads …
