Tarja Turunen
Ex-NIGHTWISH singer TARJA TURUNEN is somewhat unique as she intends to balance between classic and rock performances. It is a tradition for her to have a Christmas concert somewhere in Finland. In 2015 it was Helsinki, in 2016 the concert was announced in Lahti, a small city within one hour of train ride. Its Sibelius Hall is often used as large venue “close enough” to the capital, so it is not unusual for Helsinki locals to drop for an evening to Lahti for an event. The place uses computer-controlled acoustics and holds everything from subculture gatherings to Russian Ballet Galas.

Die Happy & Nordn
It feels like yesterday that I have last entered the Matrix (ha, ha) for a concert although it has been a few weeks since my last visit to the club in Bochum. It is DIE HAPPY I am going to see tonight and of course, the rock concert takes place in the dungeon, meaning the tube. Despite the always great atmosphere, I have yet again mixed feelings about the venue, considering the sound. And yet I am looking forward to seeing not only one, but two German bands. As this is the last concert I am attending in 2016, I am expecting an entertaining night and great fun.

Dark Storm Festival 2016 with Felsenreich, Heldmaschine, Accessory, Machinista, Sexorcist, Joachim Witt, Patenbrigade: Wolff, Das Ich, Rotersand, Combichrist, Suicide Commando, Diary of Dreams and VNV Nation
The Dark Storm Festival called for its 20th anniversary to Chemnitz and all came. I was attending the festival for the first time and have to say following according to the location: A very nice, cleverly constructed hall with a large stage and entrances right next to the front of the stage. So it was ensured that everybody could quickly go far forward and had a very good view of the huge stage. The rest was also very well organized. The food was delicious and served at a reasonable price. The only shortcomings were that the admission took quite a long time as apparently only one door was open and there were security missing at the entrance to the second area (More below).
