Apocalyptica “Plays Metallica By Four Cellos”
APOCALYPTICA rocked the Colosseum Theater in Essen on the 22nd February 2017 taking us to a journey to their amazing beginning. On 10th May 1996, APOCALYPTICA released their debut album ‘Plays Metallica By Four Cellos’. It features eight instrumental METALLICA covers arranged and played on cellos. The band was invited to record this album by a label employee after a 1995 show in which they performed some of the songs. The members were initially unsure and thought nobody would listen to such a record, but the employee insisted and they recorded it.

Motorama & Whispering Sons
‘Dialogues’ is the fourth album of the Cold-Wave minimalists MOTORAMA from Russian city Rostov at Don. For the new MOTORAMA album, the band captured their known magic simply with a portable studio by Tascam. Without smoke and mirrors directly to tape. The result of this self-restriction is an homogeneous pop album full of catchy melodies, danceable bass lines and keyboard hook-lines. Now, the band presents the new album live on German stages and on 13th February 2017, you could experience them together with Belgium Post-Punk band WHISPERING SONS in Dortmund.

Biffy Clyro – “Ellipsis Tour” – Support: Aviv Geffen (Blackfield)
2016 was unarguably the year of BIFFY CLYRO. Although these Scotsmen have been around in the music business since 1995, it has only been this year that they've managed to conquer the German market completely. Their songs are on heavy rotation on several radio stations and they've hit the stages of a great number of festivals in 2016. The October/ November concert hall tour included five dates in Germany and much to everyone's delight, there were three additional BIFFY CLYRO shows in Germany in February 2017, one of them was Bochum. The show was supported by Israeli artist Aviv Geffen and his band BLACKFIELD.

Kreator and supports Sepultura, Soilwork, Aborted
“Dee Dee Na Na Na – Saturday night and I feel the air is getting hot…“ Wait, that was something else from the 90's, but turn that dance-tune into a Thrash Metal influenced version, all bangers would join in yelling it loud and joyful in face of a Metal Fest like this. What a package in the really great and nice Mehr! Theatre next to the Elbe river. The huge hall is well-frequented when already for the first band of the evening, ABORTED.

Trentemøller & T.O.M. and his Computer
A night of Danish electronic mixtures at the Essigfabrik! TRENTEMØLLER brought his latest album, ‘Fixion’, to the good people of Cologne. And, like the album, it’s a warp-speed assembly of a million different sounds, but with the added spice of five performers ready to session like their lives depend on it. T.O.M AND HIS COMPUTER presented ‘Small Disasters’, his latest EP, as opening act.
