Last week, a legend was guest at Beatpol in Dresden. The fans could experience Max Cavalera and his band SOULFLY live on stage. SOULFLY played that evening without any support band. As always in the Beatpol, the songs were presented to the audience with decent sound and light. The setlist was a good mix of older and newer songs. Of course, songs like ‘Prophecy’, ‘Mars’ and ‘Back to the primitive’ were not missing. The fans honored SOULFLY with a great mosh pit during the entire concert. It was as always a hot show at the Beatpol and a great concert evening where the fans got their money’s worth again.

Three years after the release of ‘Now What?!’ - one of the most successful outputs of their history - the Hard Rockers of DEEP PURPLE were added to “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in 2016 and fixed their legendary status. In spring 2017, the “Mark VIII” line-up with Ian Gillan (vocals), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), Steve Morse (guitar) and Don Airey (keyboards) came out with a new album, which is called ‘Infinite’ and the band promoted the new songs with a very special video clip to ‘The Surprising’. The accompanying tour started with some glorious visits in good old Germany.

Anyone who has seen Mr. E and his band live more than once knows that basically everything can happen on an EELS concert. For example, in recent years at one tour, they rocked with doubled beards in their faces, baseball caps, and Adidas training pants through their oeuvre at twice the pace. They invited to a stylish evening with string accompaniment, where Mr. E read from his biography and in between presented his personal best of. And sometimes they were just the almost exceptional band, whose songs appear every few months in an American movie soundtrack, because they are so good, so timeless, so melodic, so profound, and so deep.

Summer is already hot concert-wise. American Goth Metal band IN THIS MOMENT have announced three club dates for Germany in June. The Cologne gig on June 12th was originally scheduled for the Luxor but has been upgraded to the more spacious Essigfabrik, which is a good sign that fans were definitely eager to see the band around front singer Maria Brink, and their theatrical performance.

With his tour to the current album, ‘Rübezahl’, JOACHIM WITT was guest at Beatpol Dresden last week’s Friday. The evening was opened by SCARLET DORN, who will release their debut album, ‘Lack of Light’, on 31 August 2018. Already, there are the two singles, ‘Hold on to me’ and ‘Heavy Beauty’, on YouTube. Listen! With JOACHIM WITT as headliner on stage, it was literally a hot concert. The numerous fans celebrated an ingenious live show together with JOACHIM WITT and the band in a full house. I am not sure but the Beatpol was surely close to be sold out.
