At the end of May SUEDE released the first single of their new album. ‘She Still Leads Me On’ is a hymn to singer Brett Anderson’s mother and sets the tone of ‘Autofiction’. In fact, the upcoming record, which will be released on September 16, is about Anderson’s self-invention. It’s about his mistakes and his confusion and finally being honest with himself when he’s over 50. Musically, SUEDE leave the path of the last three albums. ‘Bloodsports’, ‘Night Thoughts’ and ‘The Blue Hour’, the first three albums after a ten-year break and released between 2013 and 2018, sounded more and more lush, full, magnificent. But the Brits have always changed their sound just when it was on the verge of becoming a cliché. They were the first Britpop band to completely free themselves from this unloved label and have since worked on new sounds again and again.

The godfathers of Techno are back! For their 30th anniversary, U96 release a cover version of the DONOVAN classic “Atlantis"” in their very own version together with Claude-Oliver Rudolph

The first Techno album ever was released almost 30 years ago: ‘Das Boot’ by U96. In the time before that, techno DJs and producer teams primarily limited themselves to the publication of current tracks and remixes on the 12” vinyl format. As the name suggests, the cornerstone for this album was the first noteworthy chart success of Techno culture: ‘Das Boot’ by U96 not only made the genre of Techno socially acceptable beyond the scene, but also reached top positions in the charts worldwide. In Germany alone, the Maxi stayed in first place for months and sold more than 1,000,000 copies. U96 was the commercial forerunner of the Techno movement. At that time it was still an underground, young scene, which advanced to an international movement with “Mayday” and then the “Loveparade” in the 90s.
