Really sad news reached us today from the SLAYER headquarter: "Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.

Electronic-rock quartet I:Scintilla have released “Marrow 2,” the second EP from the band’s new "Marrow” series. This installment features four new studio recordings that mark a significant progress in the band's sound and direction. Groove tracks like “Ruin” and “Drag Along” coincide with high-tempo stompers “Skin Tight” and “Sequins & Pills." Meanwhile, four interesting remixes highlight flavors of electro-funk, stompy industrial/EBM, and experimental dubstep chaos. Definitely something for everyone!

FIREWIND, Greece’s leading metal band spearheaded by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., will be releasing a new live album entitled “Apotheosis – Live 2012” on June 24th, 2013 via Century Media Records in Europe, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the band in style. The cover artwork for “Apotheosis – Live 2012”, which will be released as Digipak in its first limited edition pressing, can be viewed above. It was designed by FIREWIND’s longtime partner in all design matters, Gustavo Sazes / abstrata.net (Arch Enemy, Angra, Dream Evil, etc.) based on live photography by Hans-W. Rock.

WATAIN announce the title and release date of the upcoming album: "After 120 nights of iron will and ardent magic, the fifth fullength album of Watain is now complete. With broken bones and burning hearts we have ploughed our way through deepest winter into a new wilderness, to which we will open the gates at summers end. THE WILD HUNT will be released on August 19th in Europe and August 20th in USA. Beware the rising star of dawn..."
The album was mixed again at the Necromorbus Studio in Alvik, Sweden by Tore Stjerna. No further comments. More details will be unveiled soon.
