2013 has undoubtedly been the most exciting year to date in the long career of the British band Mesh. Commencing with the January release of the single ‘Born To Lie’, it was merely an appetiser for what was to come when their new album ‘Automation Baby’ followed shortly thereafter and made it all the way to no. 33 on the German album chart on the back of glowing reviews from both the media and – more importantly – their own growing fanbase. Having spent much of the year to date on the road, the song ‘Adjust Your Set’ is being readied for release as the second single from the album by Dependent Records and will be issued in September to coincide with a new set of tour dates. One of many electro-pop highlights on the record, the CD format will include three new mixes of the song and an exclusive B-side.

Honest, fragile and straight to the heart. This spring, the charts-storming German Alternative-Rock-shooting-stars Staubkind have presented their ever-growing fan base with a special gift: a selection of their best songs performed unplugged in special versions with completely new arrangements for acoustic instruments. The band ensemble was expanded with Jenny Melicus (violin), Nikolaus Herdieckerhoff, of “Cellolitis”-fame (cello) and Carsten Klatte (of Peter Heppner & Band, ex-Project Pitchfork – guitar), providing Staubkind’s expressive songs with an intense chamber-musical sheen.

APOPTYGMA BERZERK fulfils the fans’ wish to release the PETER SCHILLING cover of ‘Major Tom’, a song the band played live several times during the last extended tour. Besides the APOP version, the EP contains several remixes from Technomancer, People Theatre or Angst Pop. Already for some time, Stephan Groth works on new songs in the studio. A new album is not yet ready, but the EP contains already one new song, ‘Dead Air Einz’.

Dylan Carlson
Dylan Carlson, better known as head of 90s cult band EARTH, proves with his solo project a fable for occult folklore around the history of the United Kingdom. With his unique Drone guitar play, he manages to bring out the melancholy of this instrument like no one else. With it, he creates a minimalist soundscape, carried by the soft voice of Teresa Colamonaco and the extraordinary guitar sound of Dylan Carlson, which embraces the listener like a foggy cloud. With his EP ‘La Strega and the Cunning Man’, the Doom pioneer shows his variety without disclaiming the typical Reverb sound.
