Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann, AKA Kollektiv Turmstrasse have a new EP set for release this August on Musik Gewinnt Freunde. Finally, after around 20 great releases on the label we are really happy to celebrate 6 years of „Musik Gewinnt Freunde“. True to the motto „Save The Vinyl“ we will present you the first double LP on „MGF“. Will it have a new livery, new design, new logo and new music..? Wait.. NO!! The Ordinary EP was freshly remixed and newly interpreted by our Artistsclan Alex Q, Lake People, Cosmic Cowboys and Ken Hawayaka. You will find a perfect remix package full of typical Label Sound from the last 6 years. Number 20 is a milestone for us, something we also owe to our faithful fans. As a consequence, we will give out the track „Ordinary“ as a free download track. True to the motto of the past years: Never forget no-response - you can download, copy, play and spread this track like you want.

Here’s some news directly from the band:
Hello fans & friends... Most unfortunately, I'm sad to report that BOTH the Munich and Berlin performances have been cancelled. The situation is quite complicated... To avoid tedious details, I will simply say these performances could not be realized.
I was recently informed about the volatile circumstances this past Sunday morning. Though extensive contracts were signed over a month ago, the promoter in Munich has chosen to "back out" of the legal performance agreement... For reasons we do not yet fully understand, they have "changed their minds" about working with SM... Obviously, they've put SM in an extremely difficult situation, but we bear them NO "ill will." We only hope we can make the best out of these "altered" circumstances. This IS the music industry... Things like this happen ALL the time... It is what it IS!

Matt Backhaus stated - "Never Ends" is a track that I think sums upperfectly what we are trying to achieve - synth rock with unashamedly80's influences while still maintaining a modern sound. The track cametogether quite easily and quickly - we were just waiting for the rightvoice to complete it. I came across a phenomenal musician from LosAngeles by the name of Zachary Self aka Mr. Self and fortunately hewanted to be a part of it. It was a very smooth and easy process withZach. His ideas were great and we were on the exact same page which madeworking with him an absolute breeze".

Sparks
The history of this band spans over four decades. Formed in the early 1970s by brothers Ron and Russell Mael, the then rather rock-oriented SPARKS had some early hits, most notably 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us'. Throughout their long-lasting career, SPARKS experimented with a lot of musical styles. Some might say more quickly than one could switch their underwear. From their early glam rock roots over to power pop and electronic dance music.

Radiohead
RADIOHEAD never chose the easy way- They could've easily adopted the style introduced on 'Pablo Honey' and which made songs such as 'Creep' stadium material. Instead they chose creative freedom over international commercial success. 'The Bends' hinted at the development that would come in certain songs. RADIOHEAD had gone experimenting with stylistic elements that were uncommon at the time and for some still are today.
