In 2010, Israeli progressive folk metal masters ORPHANED LAND shared the stage with no one less than Metallica in their home town Tel Aviv and played Europe’s biggest summer festivals incl. Wacken, Summer Breeze, Gods Of Metal, Rock Hard and any more as well as a US tour with Katatonia. Now, ORPHANED LAND have announced the release of “The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR (Tour Edition)” on October 29, 2010 in Europe close to the kick-off of the band’s extensive European tour as direct support of Amorphis, which starts November 5, 2010.- Details

Turisas has finished recording the upcoming, yet untitled third album (TBA). The new album was recorded between March and September 2010 at Sound Supreme Studio, Finland, and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Paradise Lost etc.) at Fascination Street, Sweden. The album was produced by vocalist and main songwriter Mathias "Warlord" Nygård. The album is due to be released worldwide on Century Media Records in early 2011.- Details

Winter time, the dark time of the year, a mystic time for dreams, legends and fairy tales! Berlin-based band Blutengel, pioneering the fusion of dark, fantastic Gothic-sounds and lively Electro Pop for more than a decade, has established the nice, little tradition of dishing up a fitting sound track for the magical Christmas season in form of an exclusive single release every year. This year’s goodie, ‘Promised Land’, recorded with a fresh and new line up, will be released on November 26. as a limited maxi CD and an even more strictly limited vinyl version. The title track, a perfect melange of dark pomp and an ultra-catchy melody on a rock-solid beat will be included on ‘Promised Land’ in a single-version as well as in three different remixes (one of them from CHROM) and can easily stand in line with the greatest hits of the charts-accustomed group. Listening to their tunes doesn’t exactly give an implication of where a band is coming from. In case of STANFOUR it couldn’t be more far-fetched to locate them to America. The band’s been formed in Germany with two of the founding members being brothers Alex and Konstantin Rethwisch who’ve been living and working in America a while before the band started. There you have the reason for the American influences.
