Cali thrashers WARBRINGER are back with a bang to destroy Europe’s stages once again in August and September. They will kick off their Euro trip at the SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR on Saturday, August 21st before hitting the road with Skeletonwitch and their label mates Spanish thrash hopefuls Angelus Apatrida. The final voting round for the local support contest for the upcoming DARK TRANQUILLITY "WHERE DEATH IS MOST ALIVE TOUR 2010" came to an end. Close to 600 bands from all over Europe submitted to the contest and Century Media picked the 158 best to take part of the voting. Jens Prueter, Head Of A&R Century Media Records Europe: "I know it's a cliché that a record label A&R will never listen to any demo bands are sending in. But me and my college Dario Dumancic listened to ALL 600 bands!!! Why we picked only 158? Because not every band seemed to be ready to play in front of Dark Tranquillity's fans because these fans bought a ticket for the shows and deserve a certain quality. And most other bands were too far away from playing anything to close to Death Metal.

GRINDERMAN, the band around Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Jim Sclavunos and Marty P. Casey will release their new 9-track album in September. The album’s been produced by the band together with Nick Launay. Besides the CD version, a limited CD & DVD and a digital download, the album will also be released as ITunes EP with the following content: The album, a digital booklet, lyrics and the bonus track ‘Fire Boy’, remixed by Andrew Weatherall and Factory Floor. Furthermore, the ITunes EP holds the track ‘Super Heathen Child’, a collaboration between Grinderman and Robert Fripp, and the video to the first single ‘Heathen Child’, directed by John Hillcoat as well as the spectacular trailers to the album.- Details

The Toronto based electro-goth-rock band whose new album "Pins and Needles" will be released September 17 in Europe through the Dependent sub-label Cellar Door, will be premiering their latest video “In the Dark” at the Festival of Fear in Toronto. (Saturday, August 28, at 5 pm in Room 206A at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre). The clip was co-directed by the band’s guitarist/songwriter Michael Falcore and Rodrigo Gudiño, the founder of Rue Morgue (Horror in Culture and Entertainment, Canada), in a hot studio in the east end of Toronto over the course of an early July weekend.
