This double CD honours URIAH HEEP’S 40th anniversary as one of Great Britain’s most appreciated Heavy Rock bands. From their first long player in 1970 ‘Very ‘Eavy, Very ‘Umble’ to the rousing comeback with ‘Wake The Sleeper’ in 2008, ‘On The Rebound: A Very ‘Eavy 40th Anniversary Collection’, as the title suggests, comprises at least one track of every album. The artwork is homage to the first album and the fact there’s hardly anything better than a neat power chord. Songs were picked together with bandleader Mick Box and the release contentually differs completely from every previous collection. The tracklist is a feast for a random generator and should be pleasing the die-hard fans as much as the IPod generation, just discovering the music of URIAH HEEP. Additionally there’s a bonus track from the ‘Wake The Sleeper’ sessions, seeing its first time release here.

Spanish Thrash Metallers ANGELUS APATRIDA are soon to release their Century Media Records debut album “Clockwork” on June 21st, 2010 all over Europe. “Clockwork”, the band’s third album after two independent national releases, was powerfully produced by Daniel Cardoso at Ultrasound Studios in Braga, Portugal, early 2010 and the cover artwork of the album comes courtesy of Gustavo Sazes / www.abstrata.net (Arch Enemy, God Forbid, Krisiun, etc.). As first promotional online song, the furious “Blast Off” has been launched on the band’s MySpace profile and will easily stress why fans of classic Thrash Metal in the vein of Testament, Megadeth, Overkill or early Metallica will surely dig ANGELUS APATRIDA as well. Europe in support of their new masterpiece “The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR” (OUT NOW!). Last week they stopped by at the European Century Media headquarters in Germany and played a very unconventional and natural unplugged session in company’s warehouse. Sticks and drum set have been replaced by spoons, garbage cans and cereal boxes and with no amplification you can witness ORPHANED LAND as pure and improvised as possible in front of shelves filled with thousands of CD boxes resulting in a very special atmosphere. As recently reported, THE BONES hosted the featured artist contest on MySpace and have been flooded with loads of applications. The Austrian band Blood Sucking Zombies From Outer Space won the competition and a meet and greet with THE BONES to receive a hand-signed Epiphone Les Paul Guitar. This week the Zombies had the chance to meet THE BONES on the Bad Boys For Life Tour in Graz, to call in their prize and spend a beerful night with the guys.THE BONES also just released their first live DVD “Berlin Burnout”, an awesome live show especially set up for the DVD recording in Berlin’s infamous and packed SO36. “Berlin Burnout” captures perfectly the amazing live atmosphere of this special event and is a big THANK YOU to all the fans out there.- Details
