Review Flash
“Lily Of The Valley” is a pulsating nebula, interspersed with all known nuances of the colour spectrum (and maybe even some unknown). Located somewhere in the circuit of the zodiacs of FRIENDLY FIRES, EMPIRE OF THE SUN and ANGELS & AIRWAVES, the quartet from Dublin fabricated a firework of ideas, moods and stylistic inconsistency, what makes this debut all but boring. Heavy guitars, choirs, up-tempo beats, slowed down ballads, psychedelic folk and heart-melting anthems – seems there´s nothing you can´t expect on that album bursting from variety and melody, from layers and surfaces, joy of playing and definitely joy of listening. Strange and fascinating, like coming from far, far way…
Conclusion: An Album filled with more ideas other bands may have throughout their whole career. A stylistic melting pot that exudes great harmonies and melodies, pathos and a slight case of melancholy, infecting, thrilling and pure audible joy.
