EPYSODE’s ‘Fantasmagoria’ is a second album that, as usual, seeks to improve on a debut ‘Obessions’. It’s a one man’s band with an ensemble of guest musicians that come from various other bands – to mention a few PAIN OF SALVATION, SYMPHONY X, BOREALIS and so on. The album is conceptual. It contains all you can expect from the genre – powerful riffage, the solo on the show (‘Raven’s Curse’), melodic and epic songs that make you embrace the heroic dreamer within you and to head-bang aplenty.
Conclusion: It could have easily sounded like a cliché but you’d find enough interesting unique facets to EPYSODE. It’s an effort that is well worth checking out and truly enjoyable one at that.
