SILENT FORCE is a German power metal band that came into existence in the year of the lord 1999. Formed by guitarist Alex Beyrodt and singer D.C Cooper, the band blessed the AOR and power metal scene with their debut ‘The Empire of Future’ in 2000. The bands musical approach is very epic and rock oriented, associations to AOR come to mind, I for one would call it Adult Oriented Metal because SILENT FORCE play faster and harder than most AOR bands. Singer Michael Bormann is a good addition to the band and at least a worthy replacement for D.C Cooper, although Bormann`s voice changes the whole musical imprint of the band. Where D.C Cooper was a power metal vocalist Bormann`s voice remind me of the softer AOR.
Conclusion: All in all ‘Rising from Ashes’ is a really good record but it`s not entirely the same band as with D.C Cooper in my honest opinion.
