JADED STAR is a new band by Maxi Nil (ex-VISIONS OF ATLANTIS) on vocals and Raphael Saini (ex-ICED EARTH) on drums. Even if they have a woman behind the microphone they don't play the typical Female Fronted Metal and this is something very good for me. The band is playing a mixture between Heavy Metal and Hard Rock enriched with electronic elements. I think in this album we have Maxi's best vocals ever ,maybe because this is 'her' band and she feels free to sing the way she wants. The guitars on the album by Costas Vretos are imposing and melodic, the drumming by Raphael is powerful and the production made by Maxi is very good. My favourite tracks of the album are 'Keep on fighting', 'The Mask', 'Stars' and 'Into the end of time'.
Conclusion: A very good debut album which the die-hard metal fans maybe will find it “soft” but if you listen it without blinkers for sure you will enjoy it.
