Review Flash

The city of Kansas is not only the home of Dorothy and Toto the dog, no! VERITAS use Kansas City, Kansas as their base to brew some fine Progressive Power Metal! Let’s check what the band has to say: “VERITAS is a Hard Rock / Metal band with a classic sound and a bit of prog. Founded in 2012 by Greg Wenk and original drummer Adam Hartley”. Yeah, well that is not too much of a backstory ain’t it? But luckily the music speaks for itself. Sound-wise this is Hard Rock with proggy bits always bordering on Heavy Metal. Vocalist Denny Anthony is doing a solid job as a frontman, Greg Wenk steers the ship with his riff heavy narrative while Geno Alberico slaps the bass in the background and Mark Zonder contributes rhythm and beat to the rocking superstructure.

Conclusion: ‘Threads of Fatality’ is the band’s first LP and it is not a bad one, all the band needs now is a hit, a catchy tune that refuses to leave your mind for days.

Rating: 8 / 10
