Review Flash

If you are missing the old times when 3 INCHES OF BLOOD was still a thing? Yeah, me too! When RITUAL DICTATES (featuring Ash Pearson and Justin Hagberg from 3 INCHES OF BLOOD) appeared on the map of Metal I rejoices like a crazy person but at that moment in time their first release ‘Give in to Despair’ was kinda rough for me as I had not started to get into Death Metal. Now two years later, the band releases their new output ‘No Great Loss’ and I am game because I learned to listen to extreme Metal and grew balls of steel for that task. But RITUAL DICTATES changed, now they play Goth Rock and even have songs with shared vocals. Not what I expected but not too shabby either. Be it like it is this has nothing from 3 INCHES OF BLOOD which I desperately need in my life, but it is partly music in the vein of UNTO OTHERS or THE NIGHT ETERNAL (just with better vocals, epic as fuck drums and even dashes of growls here and there). I guess you cannot turn back the hands of time without losing sight of the present and that would be a mistake as this moment in time in heavy metal are the only glory days we can shape in any way or form. If you are into heavy stuff that is kinda Goth Rocky and full of variety you should check this out.

Conclusion: For fans of GHOST but a bit more on the heavy side.
